Thai-Style Shumai Dumplings A Thai Take on a Great Classic Chinese Dim Sum Bonus: Brewing Tea !

Shumai are delicious steamed dumplings that belong to the dim sum category. The Thai people have adopted Shumai but with their own unique touch:
-a different seasoning,
– a topping of fried garlic after steaming,
– and a way of eating by wrapping them in salad leaves with fresh herbs, like we can eat crispy spring rolls.
In this video, I’ll also show you how to prepare oolong tea. Bon appétit !

👩‍🍳 Ingredients for 40 dumplings:
10 oz pork (shoulder or belly)
10 oz frozen raw shrimp
3 oz canned bamboo shoots
2 dried shiitake mushrooms
1 green onion
3 garlic cloves
1 egg white
1 tbsp cornstarch
0.5 oz cilantro stems
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
½ tsp peppercorns
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
40 wonton wrappers

Fried Garlic:
2 oz garlic
4 tbsp vegetable oil

Accompaniments:
Lettuce leaves
Cilantro
Black rice vinegar
Sriracha chili sauce
