Recipe
2 to 3 pork chops cut up
2 to 3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon cornstarch in 1/3 cup water for slurry
8 to 10 tablespoons cooking oil
6 t0 8 cloves garlic chopped
2 tablespoons ginger smashed and chopped
1 onion sliced
1/3 to 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
2 to 3 tablespoons light soy sauce
1 to 2 or more tablespoons honey
Preparation:
Cut pork chops into pieces approximately 2 inch square. Coat with cornstarch and shake off excess. Chop up the garlic, smash and chop the ginger and slice 1 onion.
Preheat a pan or wok at medium to medium high heat. Add 3 to 4 tablespoon cooking oil. Put pork chop pieces in pan and grill at medium to medium high heat for 4 to 5 minutes. Flip over and grill the other side of the pork chops. Continue to grill each side again for a few minutes if required.
Take off pork chops and put on paper towel to soak up any oil.
Preheat a wok or use the same pan to make the sauce. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons cooking oil. Add garlic and ginger. Stir fry for 15 to 20 seconds. Add onions anf stir fry to desired tenderness. Add chicken broth or water. You can add 1 tablespoon chicken soup base if you do not have chicken broth.
Bring the sauce to a boil. Thicken with cornstarch and water slurry. Add honey to the sauce. Turn off the heat.
Pour sauce over pork chop pieces or put pork chop pieces in the wok for more even coating. Serve pork chop on hot steamed rice if you like. Enjoy!
